Lake Resort Trumps Las Vegas
by Andréa R. Vaucher
from the International Herald Tribune

“HENDERSON, Nevada: When the developer Ronald Boeddeker took a helicopter flight over the southern Nevada desert between Hoover Dam and Las Vegas in 1987, he did not see a harsh and barren landscape below. He saw Italy's Lake Como…

Las Vegas is a Top Pick for Best Places to Buy a House in 2008
by Danielle Babb
from Entrepreneur Magazine's Entrepreneur.com

“Whether you're looking for an investment property or a place to live, here's a look at the cities you should seek out and avoid in 2008...Las Vegas comes in quite high on the national foreclosure list, almost always within the top three metro areas. and it's not even in Las Vegas.
It's on the outskirts of next-door suburb Henderson...”

Lake Las Vegas is an Island of Serenity in that Sea of Glitz
by Spud Hilton
from The San Francisco Chronicle

“Oddly enough, there really is a lake
at Lake Las Vegas. Odd not because
a 320-acre body of water that didn't
exist 15 years ago now sits in the middle of the Nevada desert.
It's odd because Las Vegas has
a way of playing fast and loose
with names: There's no bay at Mandalay Bay, the Mirage is real,
the Stratosphere is clearly in the troposphere and, really, what are
the chances you'll win at Wynn? Maybe the rules are different
- more sane, more reality - based - because Lake Las Vegas...
